2012 is Off Like A Rocket

New Furniture Distribution Center Comes Online!

2012 Is Off Like A Rocket!
The winter months tend to lend themselves to “hibernation” and “blues” (as in very few blue skies LOL) Not so for LifeLine Ministries. From day one in the new year, God has been blowing things wide open with opportunities to foster new partnerships and minister to more people than ever before in our history. As David ran toward his adversary (the Giant!) in 1 Samuel 17:45, LLM is running toward poverty and saying “game on”! Here’s what’s happening:

New Furniture Distribution Center Comes Online!

In the past 12 months, the number of furniture pieces we’ve been blessed to distribute jumped 50%! In 2011, LLM gave away 1,650 pieces of furniture to our clients. The ministry center was bursting at the seams, so God provided another building for us to christen as our distribution center. The location is 11 Girard St. Florence, Ky which is just several miles from the center and convenient to all of our delivery points. We’ve already realized great efficiencies and are looking for me as we settle in. We’re always looking for more delivery volunteers, so if you’re inclined, email John Rottinghaus. jrottinghaus@lifelineofnky.org

Zotefoams Providing Bedding From Scrap:

Zotefoams, Inc manufactures every type of foam product you can comprehend. Now, they’re using their expertise to provide bedding for the homeless and under resourced. Using material they’d normally scrap, Zotefoams compiles sleeping mats and mattress “box springs” for LLM and can provide them in unlimited quantities. Huge thanks to Dan Catalano and his poverty conscious team at Zotefoams!

March Madness Is Coming. Can You DRIVE The Lane?

Who doesn’t get cranked up about March Madness in Kentucky? Can you use your March Madness celebration to raise awareness and food supplies for LLM? Sure you can. Whether you hold a corporate party or a bash at your house, ask your guests to “drive the lane” for hunger by bringing food supplies to your shindig! What a great way to “slam dunk” hunger in NKY.

Ever Walked 8 Miles In The Rain For Anything?
Ever seen a grown man weep? How about a big, burley, "Grisley Adams" kind of guy totally broken by life's circumstances? William and his wife Dawn came into the center for help recently. They're homeless and living in a local motel. (They walked 8 miles to the center in the rain) William's job was automated recently, costing him his livelihood. He lost his house in the process and had to send his 12 year old to live with his ailing mother since there weren't funds to care for him. Oh and I almost forgot...they hadn't eaten but a can of soup in 4 days! We witnessed William & Dawn move from total despair to a place of hope and encouragment by loading them down with food, giving William some job options around town and connecting them to some permanent housing.

Hey everybody grab your eco friendly grocery bags and head over to Remke Biggs Turfway Road to buy up some groceries. Everytime you do the store will give you a token worth 6 cents to support LifeLine Ministries. There's a bin by the front entrance with information about LLM. When you see it simply flip your token in our bin. It's a win, win, win= great grocery deals for you, funds to support LLM and you're extending the life of the planet!
